Dementia-friendly Screenings re-launched at South Hill Park
Updated: Feb 18
On Monday 10th January 2022, Dementia-friendly Screenings were re-launched at South Hill Park with the showing of Doctor in the House, starring Dirk Bogarde, James Robertson Justice and Kenneth More.
The Screenings, aimed at those living with dementia, their carers and families - and anyone seeking a relaxed cinema experience - will continue on the second Monday of each month, commencing at 2:00 pm. South Hill Park stewards and community volunteers are on hand at the Screenings to provide help and guidance to the audience.
Films are paused, normally at a half-way point, to allow for a fifteen-minute interval, when ice creams are made available to purchase inside the cinema and patrons are free to enjoy a comfort break as necessary. Complementary refreshments are available after the film, when carers and their clients can socialise with the stewards and volunteers, in a relaxed setting.
The Screenings comply fully with all health and safety requirements in force at South Hill Park.
