On Sunday 26th January 2025, around thirty members and friends of Bracknell Film Society gathered in the Terrace Room of the South Hill Park Arts Centre for their annual (Winter) lunch.
As in previous years, the event was ably organised by the Society’s Vice Chair, David Maxwell; and lovely table flowers were provided by the Society’s Membership Secretary, Shelagh Barnett.
We are a diverse and friendly bunch, so the hum of conversation was continuous and wide ranging but did, of course include films seen. In a short address, David welcomed all and paid glowing tribute to the Society’s long-standing, recent Chair, Julia Vickers, who has relocated to Keswick where she is already involved with the Film Club and film festival. A hard act to follow, but the Committee are determined to rise to the challenge.
South Hill Park's excellent Sunday lunch by caterers Peas & Carrots contributed greatly to the event which was hailed as a great success by all in attendance.
