Maria is a famous TV presenter married to Magnus, a high-profile academic. Order tips into chaos when Magnus is accused of sexual impropriety. Initially fleeing the resulting media firestorm together, an unexpected confrontation subsequently causes Maria to travel, with her dog, to Exmoor. Alone with her thoughts, in a remote cottage, she becomes physically and mentally unstuck.
Shot against the arresting landscapes and skies of Sweden and the South West, Ingvarsson’s assured and atmospheric psychological thriller invites its audience to draw their own conclusions about its troubled heroine, her and her husband’s actions and their far-reaching consequences. - BFI
